The 127th Canton Fair, the first one ever to be held online, has now been digitally closed.
According to Xu Bing, the spokesperson of Canton Fair, the first virtual Canton Fair overcame the limits of time and space and blazed a new path of international trade development. It served as an example of dedication to ensure the global supply and an example of resilience to challenges the world has encountered this year.
The demanding task to host the Fair online, required a completely new approach from organizers and innovative content from exhibitors, all in a very short period of time. The organizers introduced smart supplier - buyer matchmaking system, new financial services, virtual lectures, live streaming, virtual signing ceremonies and more. Nearly 26,000 domestic and overseas exhibitors, all of them in need for new orders, displayed their products using video or VR and broadcasted their automatic production lines, proving to be smarter, more driven and more creative than ever before. The result was remarkable, the registration and virtual attendance of domestic buyers surpassed the previous session, suggesting that China is turning from the world’s biggest manufacturer to world’s biggest buyer.
Despite of the global economic downturn and severely battered global trade, the 127th Canton Fair attracted companies from US, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and has received worldwide press attention.
While the rest of the world is slowly recovering, Chinese market is already in the full swing.
