The city of Hangzhou has announced the start of their yearly competition for Overseas Talents startups.
Organized by Organization Department of the CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee (Talent Office), Hangzhou Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and Hangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, this year’s competition offers big awards.
The startups will compete for one First Prize, four Second Prizes and seven Third Prizes, and will be awarded RMB 200,000, 100,000 and 50,000 respectively. Additional 88-156 prizes are to be distributed among others.
The competition will include some of leading companies in key development Zhejiang Construction Engineering Group and Bank of China. The above-mentioned companies will offer professional help and resources in terms of R & D, technology, market, management, finance, etc., and will help promote the implementation of chosen projects in Hangzhou.
The startups that register their business and start operations in Hangzhou within one year after the competition will be rewarded:
Startups entering the competition will enjoy the preferential policies such as tax relief, rent subsidies, financing guarantees, discounted loans, and so on. To enhance even more this entrepreneurial experience, one-stop services will be set up to offer short-term free office space, short-term free accommodation, business registration, human resources, accounting, legal, logistics, and many others at various business developing stages.
COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS
1. The participants can participate as individuals or teams consisting of up to four members.
2. Each participant can only apply with one project.
3. The products and services proposed in the projects could be inventions, technologies, concept products or services. The competing projects should be in high-tech industries or strategic emerging industries, and should have technical merits. The core members of the participating team must have legal intellectual property rights or use rights (authorized) for their projects.
4. Each project should be accompanied by a complete business plan, including technologies, market prospects, business strategies, funding demands, team members, future plan and clear business model.
